SEMICORE LABS LLC respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our mobile application ("the App").

1. Introduction

The App is specifically designed to detect BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) devices, particularly beacons developed by our client company or non connectable BLE devices. These beacons are used for asset tracking purposes. The App does not collect, store, or share any personal data and operates without internet connectivity.

Data We Handle

The App performs limited BLE scanning to identify nearby non connectable BLE devices.

  • BLE Scanning: The App detects BLE signals within range to identify beacons / non connectable BLE devices. This process does not involve collecting personal data or storing device information.
  • Data Collection: The app collects and stores the MAC address of Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) devices associated with an asset name (e.g., key, wallet, watch) of your choice. The MAC address is used solely for the purpose of scanning and uniquely identifying the registered BLE device, and determining whether it is within the vicinity of your mobile device. This collection is essential to provide these services, even when the app is running in the background. NO personally identifiable information (PII) such as your name, address, phone number, or location is collected, stored, or linked to the MAC address.
  • Data Retention: The app allows to delete the registered device / MAC address from the app whenever the user decides not to track it any more

3. Purpose of BLE Scanning

The BLE scanning functionality is solely intended for the following purposes:

  • Scanning BLE beacons / non connectable BLE devices on tha app and save them as per user's discretion.
  • Saved beacons can be tracked for their presence in the vicinity of the mobile.

4. No Internet Connectivity

The App does not connect to the internet or transmit any data to external servers. All functionalities are performed locally on the user's device.

5. How We Protect Your Data

The app collects MAC address of the BLE device only for the purpose of tracking the device in background. NO personally identifiable information (PII) such as your name, address, phone number, or location is collected, stored, or linked to the registered MAC address. The MAC address is not shared anywhere in any way and is stored locally in the mobile phone only.

6. Third-Party Services

The app uses QR code scanner provided by Google play service to scan the QR code on the beacon assets. Other than this no other 3rd party services used.

7. User Permissions

The App may request the following permissions to function properly:

  • Bluetooth Access: Required for scanning BLE beacons / non connectable BLE devices.
  • Location Access: Certain operating systems may require location permissions to enable BLE scanning. However, the App does not collect or use location data.
  • Post Notification: The app requires permission to post foreground notification to inform the user that the app is using Bluetooth in background to track the registered assets.
  • Camera Access: The app requires camera access permission while using the app to scan QR code. The QR code is used to scan and identify the devices using their MAC address encoded in the QR code present on BLE beacon devices provided by our client. NO personally identifiable information (PII) such as your name, address, phone number, or location is collected, stored, or linked to this QR code and is not shared any where by any means.

8. Children’s Privacy

The App is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

9. User Rights

Except device address, since the App does not collect user data, there are no specific user rights regarding data access, modification, or deletion.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. Any updates will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
